1. BN appears to have backtracked on a statement calling for a parliamentary sitting to be held and blamed an unnamed officer for releasing the statement under coalition chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s name without authorisation.

2. The statement also has an uncanny similarity to a statement released by Pakatan Harapan on Thursday night, prompting former BN secretary-general Annuar Musa to claim that BN is under Harapan’s spell.

3. Tech experts are unsurprised with the latest bungle with the MySejahtera app that prompted many to resubmit their registration for Covid-19 registration. They say this was due to the government's lack of commitment to providing the service since the app was developed for free. Meanwhile, alternative channels for registration have opened.

4. PAS has refused to take sides in the Umno-Bersatu break-up, while a survey finds Umno and PAS supporters have opposing views on whether Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin should call for snap elections or complete his term.

5. Harapan accused Perikatan Nasional of leveraging enforcement agencies to coerce opposition MPs into supporting Muhyiddin’s government.

6. Perak state assemblypersons Paul Yong (Tronoh) and A Sivasubramaniam (Buntong) have joined Bersatu as associate members, after leaving DAP to support Perikatan Nasional last year.

7. Amanah Youth chief Shazni Munir Mohd Ithnin has been appointed as the new Harapan Youth chief, but this caused dissatisfaction among some leaders in PKR.

8. The Young Lawyers Movement has submitted motions ahead of the Malaysian Bar's annual general meeting next week urging the Bar to address long-standing issues on minimum wage and sexual harassment investigations.

9. The government is drawing up construction blueprints for workers’ quarters that would meet new standards mandated under emergency law.

10. The Department of Wildlife and National Parks of Peninsular Malaysia and the NGO Traffic has called for legal protection to prevent the trade of the Oriental Magpie-robin, over concerns that it could drive the songbird into extinction.
