But by his recent unwarranted (read uncouth) remarks in Parliament, he forgets that he has subjected himself to the laws of karma and may soon find out the truth in the 'Sow as ye reap" law.

His remark not only humiliates Karpal but the entire disabled community in Malaysia. He should not only apologise to Karpal but also to all the disabled people in Malaysia. I wonder what is the response from the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development on Nazri's remarks. Perhaps someone should get their view.

Rumour of a coup has been brewing for months. Perhaps Thais are tired of cronyism in the capital and sectarianism in the south of the country. The atrocities in Yala and Narathiwat happened under Thaksin's watch. All the while he was lining the pockets of his friends and family from the state coffers.

Perhaps this is another lesson to Bush and his neo-cons. Thaksin may have been 'democratically elected' but a leader is judged by what he does and not by what the West like us to believe he does - a democrat and an ally in the war against terror.

Rose: TDM (Tun Dr Mahathir) was so busy trying to turn this nation into a developed country that he did not realise he was breeding monsters who were only interested in material wealth. Despite being an astute and brilliant leader, he had this blind spot. Why? Because a man of honour and integrity is not of the same level as a corrupted and distorted mind.

Sadly, his closest aides have now turned against him. His own constituency has been bought. He is speaking out against all the wrongdoings, of corruption at the highest level, of the nation being robbed, but no one is listening. He was willing to be an ordinary delegate in order to reach the rest of the Umno delegates. But even if he had, do you really think they would have cared?

Would they care if Khairy or Kamaluddin make billions from government contracts, or that some minister's family received thousands of APs, or that the government really tried to sell sand to Singapore? No, they are too busy protecting their own interest and counting how much they can make from their next deal.

Even if there might be a handful who cared, my bet is the majority will just silence them. It is as pathetic as that. Otherwise, if there is any honour and morality amongst any of our current leaders, they would not allow TDM to be treated the way he is being treated.

Look at the administration now. Ministers have turned to thugs, using words like "damn", belittling the disabled, mocking a legendary and respected ex-prime minister in public. Is this what holds for the future of our generation?

I had wanted to believe and have faith in AAB (Abdullah Ahmad Badawi) as one of the veterans who still carry some morale principles. But if he allows this kind of ministers to use vulgar and uncouth remarks in the media, than he himself is no different. I cannot believe that AAB is capable of corruption and that whatever is happening, he is not aware, that he is being manipulated by stronger and ambitious individuals. But that won't do either. We need a strong leader. A leader who can find a cure to the dangerous disease that can be lethal to the whole nation.

That is the culture of Umno today. Our leaders are willing to sell their souls to the devils as long as their positions are secured. If AAB triumphs over TDM, it is not because the Umno culture is about backing the incumbent, it is because he who holds the power laughs all the way to the bank.

When there is widespread corruption, traffic impact studies are not done properly before a project is approved, Lorries and trucks ply our highways without proper certification, drivers on roads with kopi O licence, etc.

It's the way of life here and until we get serious with corruption, it shall go on.

Ibnu Hakeem: Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi telah menerima pengakuan "kesal" Pope Benedict ke-16 selepas pertemuannya dengan Presiden George W Bush. Terdapat khabar angin yang mendakwa kononnya tujuan khusus perjumpaan Abdullah dengan Bush ialah untuk membincangkan isu skandal nuklear Scomi Berhad.

Scomi merupakan syarikat milik Kamaluddin Abdullah, anak sulung Perdana Menteri.

Menurut khabar angin itu, Abdullah terpaksa meminta jasa baik Bush untuk menyakinkan anggota Kongres supaya tidak membangkitkan isu Scomi di dalam persidangan mereka yang akan datang.

Apa yang kita bimbangi ialah kalau khabar angin itu benar. Dan kalau ia benar adakah akan wujud situasi "orang berbahasa, kita berbudi"? Kalau Perdana Menteri "berbudi", apakah balasannya kepada Bush?

Isu Scomi masih belum selesai berikutan penangkapan beberapa orang eksekutif syarikat Jepun, Mitutoyo yang merupakan rakan Scomi dalam penjualan komponen nuklear ini. Sementara itu, rakan kongsi Kamaludin, BSA Tahir masih ditahan di bawah ISA.
