Sabah politician claims trial to five counts of attempt to outrage modesty
A Sabah politician has claimed trial at the Kota Kinabalu Magistrate's Court to four counts of molesting a local beauty pageant contestant and another charge of molesting another woman.
Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku Rakyat Sabah (Star) Putatan parliamentary constituency coordinator Phillip Among @ Daniel Dell Fidelis, 52, was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code, according to the Borneo Post.

Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku Rakyat Sabah (Star) Putatan parliamentary constituency coordinator Phillip Among @ Daniel Dell Fidelis, 52, was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code, according to the Borneo Post.
On the first count, Phillip is reportedly accused of using criminal force with the intention to outrage the modesty of a woman in a living room of a premises at the Asia City Hotel in Kota Kinabalu at 11pm on April 17.
On the second to the fifth charge, he is accused of molesting an Unduk Ngadau contestant at four different locations around Kota Kinabalu - at a studio at the Asia City Hotel, inside a car, at the staircase beside a photo studio and at an office at the Metro Town business centre - at 3.30pm, 9.45pm, 2pm and 10pm respectively on May 19.
It was previously reported the complainant had lodged a police report on the matter on May 21 and a redacted version of the report had been circulating online.
The police arrested Philip last week while the party suspended him as a parliamentary constituency coordinator.
According to Star secretary-general Guan Dee Koh Hoi, Philip informed the party he was also being investigated for allegedly assaulting a Kadazandusun Cultural Association Sabah security guard.
Section 354 of the Penal Code provides for punishment of up to 10 years jail and a fine and whipping or any two of the three punishments.
The court fixed July 14, 21 and 22 for pre-trial case management and released the accused on an RM8,000 bail for each of the charges with two local sureties.
Counsel Marcel Jude Joseph and Abdul Fikry Jaafar Abdullah represented the accused.
Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun presided over the case.
