Pahang Harapan supporters protest DAP rep's call for Anwar to quit

A group of Pahang Pakatan Harapan supporters yesterday gathered at the office of Bilut assemblyperson Lee Chin Chen to protest against the latter for calling Anwar Ibrahim to resign.
This comes after Lee, who is from DAP, said that Anwar should take a back seat and let younger generations lead the opposition coalition.
In a statement, PKR Paya Besar branch chief Wan Fauzuldin Wan Samad called Lee's statement "rude" and urged the Pahang opposition chief to apologise to Anwar.
"Should he fail to retract his statement and make a public apology to Anwar, we will urge all PKR and Amanah machinery in Bentong to stop all cooperation with DAP in Bilut constituency," he said.
According to Wan Fauzuldin, the group went to Lee's office about 2.30pm where they also submitted a memorandum of protest to Lee's special officer.
Last week, Lee posted on Facebook his call for Anwar to resign as Harapan chairperson following the coalition's poor performance in the recently concluded Malacca state election.
Failing that, Lee said DAP must consider the possibility of quitting Harapan.
His statement had prompted an outcry from PKR leaders, including Pahang PKR chief Fuziah Salleh, who described Lee's call as "uncivilised and devoid of respect" for Harapan partners that had collectively appointed Anwar as the federal opposition leader.
