Mat Sabu: I symphatise with Hadi, he's facing 'internal problems'

Amanah president Mohamad Sabu does not want to prolong the issue regarding PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s remark that many in Pakatan Harapan are “non-believers” and “immoral”, out of “sympathy” for the latter.

“There is no need to comment... the PAS president’s stance changes every week; we don’t know what he will say next week.

“I think he (Hadi) is facing internal problems, in his mind,” Mohamad (above, left) told a press conference at the Amanah Convention 2022 in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, today.

“I sympathise with Hadi and do not wish to prolong this issue,” he added.

In a related development, Amanah communications director Khalid Abdul Samad said that PAS has no ammo other than religion to gain political mileage.

“If he (Hadi) wants to talk about administrative excellence in PAS-led states like Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah, he can’t, as the people there face various problems.

“There is also nothing much to talk about in ministries held by PAS leaders. So he can only make everyone an infidel, unIslamic and without morals, so only he appears as a good person,” Khalid told reporters at the same press conference.

“The fact is, the truth is far from what he preaches and practices,” he added.

On Thursday, Hadi reiterated that the Islamist party will not form any partnership with Harapan in the next general election as many of its leaders are “non-believers and immoral”.

“Harapan is not capable of doing justice to all the people, despite the coalition having component parties that use ‘Keadilan’ (justice) and ‘Amanah’ (responsible) as a name,” he said in his Minda Presiden PAS article, referring to PKR and Amanah.
