PAS has plan B in case ummah unity does not work - Tuan Ibrahim

PAS has a “Plan B” in case its efforts to push for ummah unity fail to materialise, said its deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

The Environment and Water Minister, however, did not divulge details on the matter.

"if you want to talk about feeling offended, PAS has had an issue with Umno for 60 years compared with Bersatu. But Bersatu leaders were once part of Umno," he told a press conference at Parliament today.

"When two groups of Muslims fight with each other, we must try to unite them. Since there are only petty issues, we can sit down and work it out.

"If we can make it, then we will proceed (with ummah unity). If cannot, then we have ‘Plan B’," Tuan Ibrahim (above) said.

On Oct 2, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi issued an ultimatum to PAS, stating that the Islamic party must sever ties with Bersatu and exit Perikatan Nasional if it wants to cooperate with Umno.

But PAS had maintained that it wanted to work together with both Umno and Bersatu in the 15th general election.

Bersatu had already declared Umno-led BN was PN's “main enemy” in GE15, contradicting PAS’ stance that the enemy was Pakatan Harapan.
