Saifuddin Abdullah blasts 'greedy' BN, says PN got most seats in Pahang

Indera Mahkota MP-elect Saifuddin Abdullah has taken aim at BN for its “greedy” demands that prevented BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN) from forming a coalition government in Pahang.

“The party that received the largest mandate from the people of Pahang is PN. That’s the will of the people and should be respected.

“From the beginning, PN was ready to negotiate to form the Pahang government but not with Pakatan Harapan, which brings an agenda that is contrary to the interests of the people,” said Saifuddin (above), who uniquely has been elected in the past under Umno/BN (Temerloh MP in 2008) and PKR/Harapan (Indera Mahkota MP in 2018).

Now with Bersatu/PN, he chided BN for its demands.

“BN demanded the position of menteri besar and wanted seven executive council seats, and only agreed to give PN one exco seat even though they are a minority party with no mandate.

“The greedy nature and wanting to put aside the mandate of the people is the true nature of Umno-BN that the people need to realise,” he said in a statement on social media.

He then went on to question what had made Harapan and BN work together.

“I don't know what candy ‘lubricant’ Harapan agreed to offer BN. I hope there’s no perverted thing offered for the sake of power and position,” Saifuddin said.

PN has 17 seats in the Pahang state assembly, followed by BN with 16 and Harapan with eight.

Meanwhile, the election for the Tioman state seat is now scheduled for Dec 7 following the death of the PN/PAS candidate.
