Zuraida joins Annuar’s Muafakat Nasional

Former Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin has joined NGO Muafakat Nasional, according to its founder Annuar Musa.

The former Ketereh MP announced this on Facebook while also thanking Zuraida for visiting his office.

Annuar's Muafakat Nasional is an association registered with the Registrar of Societies and not to be confused with the proposed electoral pact between Umno and PAS - signed in September 2019.

According to Muafakat Nasional's website, the group aims to organise activities to promote the Rukun Negara and Federal Constitution.

Among others, the group is also aimed at protecting the position of Malay rulers, special positions of the Malays and bumiputera, safeguarding interests of other ethnic groups, the Malay language and the interests of a plural society.

It plans to do so by organising several round table discussions and a "Muafakat Nasional tour" - a series of closed-door seminars - as well as a national-level convention.

Annuar’s Umno membership was terminated five days ago without reason and he has been recruiting for Muafakat Nasional since.
