GPS slams Muda for 'gatecrashing' state assembly media room

Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Youth has slammed Sarawak Muda for using the state legislative assembly media room to promote its party.

GPS Youth leader Miro Simuh said the state assembly facilities are supposed to be used by members of the assembly and are not a platform to promote one's party.

"What Muda did was unhealthy. They were gatecrashing the (DUN) state assembly media room to promote themselves.

"They can do whatever they want outside. They shouldn't use the DUN media room," he said during a press conference yesterday.

He urged other parties to refrain from doing so in the future.

Good policies

On Wednesday, a Sarawak Muda delegation visited the state assembly in conjunction with the ongoing state assembly sitting.

It is understood that the Muda members were the guests of an opposition party.

Sarawak Muda leader Jeffery Ngui introduced some of his party leaders to the press and pledged to give a voice to Sarawakian youths.

Ngui said Muda does not have any representatives in the Sarawak assembly and thus the delegation was at the building yesterday to lobby several state assemblypersons.

"Our slogan is 'Muda adalah kita'. We believe that in every Sarawakian's heart, they have the Muda in them and we want to bring it out.

"We will support good policies and yet we will also play a check-and-balance role," said Ngui.
