The DAP has strongly condemned what was believed to be a Molotov cocktail attack on Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham’s house earlier this morning.
Its secretary-general Anthony Loke said Ngeh informed him of the incident, which police confirmed was a suspected case of arson.
“DAP strongly condemns this violent attack that threatens the safety of his family.
“Any form of violence is completely unacceptable in handling differences in our society,” he said, adding that DAP is in solidarity with Ngeh and his family.
“DAP also calls on the Home Ministry and police to pay serious attention to this case and ensure that public safety and public order are always protected,” Loke (above) said.
Earlier, Perak police chief Yusri Hassan Basri confirmed that the fire was suspected to be an act of arson and noted that the investigation is being carried out from multiple angles.

There were no casualties reported in the 2.50am incident but three cars were affected, including a Mercedes E300, which was almost completely razed.
Also partially burnt were a Honda CRV, and Toyota Hilux, as well as the house’s porch roof.
Ngeh and his wife were reportedly asleep during the incident before they were awakened by a passerby who rang their doorbell and alerted them of the fire.
