The Pardons Board is expected to announce its decision on whether or not to release former premier Najib Abdul Razak by today, according to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
”I believe so," he told reporters when met after Friday prayers in Kuala Lumpur.
Earlier, Anwar confirmed the Pardons Board has reached its decision, following intense speculations this week.
However, he declined further comments and reiterated that all parties should wait for an official announcement from the Pardons Board.
"Yes, there is a decision, wait for the announcement," the Tambun MP added.

Speculations had been rife on whether Najib would be pardoned or have his 12-year jail sentence reduced, but Anwar did not provide any further indications on the board's decision.
Yesterday, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa said an official statement regarding the issue of Najib's pardon is expected to be issued this week.
"We will wait for the statement (of the Pardon Board)... God willing, we expect this week," said Zaliha who is also a member of the Pardons Board.

Earlier, Anwar had lunch at the NanZura mixed rice stall Lot 6, Pertama Complex and then performed Friday prayers at Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad Mosque, Kuala Lumpur.
