Diesel price drops another 5 sen

The retail price of diesel has been reduced by another five sen to RM3.25 from RM3.30 per litre.

According to the Finance Ministry, this is due to the recent decline in global crude oil prices.

“The government agrees to reduce the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia by five sen per litre to RM3.25 per litre, from tomorrow to Aug 21,” it said in a statement.

However, the price of RON97 remained at RM3.47 per litre, RON95 at RM2.05 per litre, and diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan at RM2.15 per litre from tomorrow to Aug 21.

“The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people," the ministry said.

It added that prices were fixed based on the weekly retail pricing of petroleum products using the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.
