Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli plans to initiate legal action against Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, accusing him of defamation.

Rafizi, who has approached his counsel on the matter, alleged that Wan Fayhsal (above, right) falsely claimed he misused government funds to pay cybertroopers and support online trolls.

Rafizi emphasised the seriousness of the allegations, stating this is the first time he has resorted to legal action.

“I have never sued anyone before, but YB Machang’s defamation is clear-cut, and the case will proceed in court,” he said, referencing Wan Fayhsal’s defamatory post on X.

In the post, the Machang MP accused Rafizi of diverting ministry funds to sponsor cyber troopers for political purposes.

Wan Fayhsal also shared what appeared to be a leaked slide from an account named @RichardPower_, which allegedly outlined a campaign strategy to counter “negative perceptions” of the government.
