Firm lodges police report against PN rep over Felda housing project issue

KMDI Holding Sdn Bhd (KMDI) has denied allegations that it failed to implement the Felda New Generation Housing Project (PGBF) in Pahang, leading to losses for the contractors involved.

KMDI managing director Azjuriyahti Azlan called the accusations by Perikatan Nasional assemblyperson Jasri Jamaludin and contractor representative Syahfrilhaidi Abdul Rahman “malicious slander”.

Following the allegations, Azjuriyahti (above) said the company filed a police report and plans to sue Jasri for defamation.

“The statement by the Kuala Sentul assemblyperson claiming the project is abandoned is slander. The project is proceeding as agreed with the Pahang state government through the Pahang Housing and Real Estate Board,” she said in a statement yesterday.

In response to claims that KMDI has not paid contractors, Azjuriyahti clarified that the company has filed court claims and is awaiting trial.

On Monday, Malaysiakini reported that contractors involved in 10 PGBF projects in Pahang claimed losses exceeding RM30 million due to stalled projects over the past two years.

Jasri urged the Pahang government to intervene, attributing the project’s failure to the appointed developer.

Azjuriyahti countered by stating that KMDI has sued contractors who abandoned worksites and failed to comply with the agreed-upon terms.

She also dismissed allegations regarding unreturned performance bonds as baseless, explaining that such refunds depend on completing all contracted work.

“The decision on bond refunds and payments will be determined by the court,” she added.
