In an apparent U-turn over the proposed guidelines for Muslims attending non-Muslim events, Putrajaya said any policy decision must be made in the interest of national unity and get cabinet approval first.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Na’im Mokhtar and National Unity Minister Aaron Ago Dagang also acknowledged in a joint statement that the matter has raised confusion among Malaysians.
