PAS MUKTAMAR | The 71st PAS muktamar unanimously endorsed a motion to strengthen Perikatan Nasional ahead of the 16th general election.

The motion, tabled by PAS Youth delegate Faizuddin Zai, was seconded by Shah Alam PAS representative Sukri Omar.

“This is the most important motion for us who have gathered here in Kedah from across the country today.

“We have discussed social issues, economic issues, and how to save our country. But, dear delegates, do not forget there is one thing we must save before we go into GE16.

“The people are waiting for us to seize the leadership of PN, to lead PN to rise and advance this struggle, to lead the people and to crush Pakatan Harapan and a handful of Umno leaders who are in Putrajaya,” Faizuddin said in his speech.

However, he later corrected the phrase “seize PN” to “strengthen PN” at the request of PAS permanent chairperson Husin Ismail, who also chaired the muktamar session.

In his speech, Faizuddin also lamented that PN at present is sluggish and directionless.

“Today, people see PN as weak, stagnant, without clear direction, and losing focus.

“Our muktamar today is to breathe new life, to show that we are ready to lead the country in the future,” he added.

Behind the scenes no more

Expounding further, Faizuddin said PAS could no longer act as a party that merely operates behind the scenes.

“It is time that PAS no longer stands behind in governing, no longer just stands by the roadside, but that we lead PN to a better level,” he said.

He also criticised the Madani government, claiming it had failed to manage the national economy and accusing its members of deceit.

“The people are disappointed with the failure of the Madani government’s present economic system, and they are also disappointed with the political deceit of the country’s leaders.

“We do not know whether the political scandals which have hit the country now are more serious than the scandals before this; we do not know what is happening with the police, the MACC and the enforcement authorities in this country.

“The people are disappointed, and they are hoping for PAS MPs to go to Putrajaya to lead the country,” he said.

‘Best Islamic model’

Faizuddin stated that the Wawasan Induk Negara Sejahtera (Wins 2051) model introduced by PAS would be implemented if PN were to take over Putrajaya.

“Wins 2051, initiated by PAS, is beginning to bear fruit, as the best Islamic model in the world.

“God willing, the best leaders above us will be the ones to lead us into Putrajaya,” he said.

Wins 2051 serves as a fundamental guide to governing a nation based on Islamic principles within the modern context, with the aim of building a prosperous country by 2051.

In implementing the objectives of Wins 2051, the plan will be divided into three main phases.

The first phase, running from 2018 to 2030, focuses on a transformative approach to resolving the problems confronting the nation.

This is referred to as the “prosperous nation transformation programme”, PAS mouthpiece, Harakah Daily reported in 2017, after the launch of Wins.

The second phase, from 2031 to 2040, will concentrate on advancing Malaysia towards developed nation status.

The third phase, beginning in 2041 and lasting until 2051, aims to elevate Malaysia as a global leader, in line with the aspiration to establish a nation guided by Islamic principles of justice and fairness for all.
