Paris' Louvre Museum was closed today as staff went on strike to protest deteriorating working conditions, reported the German Press Agency.

It is unclear how long the walkout will last. The museum stated on its website that it was currently inaccessible due to industrial action, apologising to visitors for the inconvenience. The trade unions say the strike is indefinite.
