Senior army man charged with CBT involving RM5m
Senior army personnel Fauzi Kamis has been charged with criminal breach of trust involving RM5 million from the Armed Forces Welfare Fund.
The 56-year-old major general pleaded not guilty to the charge before Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court judge Suzanna Hussin this morning.

The 56-year-old major general pleaded not guilty to the charge before Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court judge Suzanna Hussin this morning.
He was charged in his capacity as the fund’s investment committee chairperson and accused of making an additional RM5 million investment in Precious Amber International Bhd without the committee’s approval.
Fauzi, the Army Personnel Services assistant chief of staff, was alleged to have committed the offence on Nov 27, 2023, at the Defence Ministry’s headquarters.
His charge was framed under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which carries imprisonment between two and 20 years, caning, and a fine.
RM100k bail, passport confiscated
Deputy public prosecutor Law Chin How suggested that the court consider setting bail at RM300,000 and confiscating Fauzi’s passport.
“The accused is still in the armed forces, and he frequently travels abroad to attend programmes. We suggested RM300,000 bail, given that the accused posed a flight risk.
“We believe this amount is reasonable and appropriate,” Law said.
The accused’s lawyer, Ahmad Zahiril Muhaiyar, pleaded for a lower bail of RM70,000.
“This is an interesting case, as the accused is still in the armed forces and carries a two-star rank on his shoulder. He is a general, and we should treat him accordingly.
“I believe the RM300,000 suggested by the prosecutor is quite exorbitant, as this charge is not for embezzlement but for funds misappropriation.
“Therefore, I pray for the court to consider RM70,000 bail,” Zahiril said.
The court then set RM100,000 bail for Fauzi and confiscated his passport until the disposal of the case.
The judge also fixed March 16 for case mention.

Yup the case sure is interesting especially when a two star general is "charged with criminal breach of trust involving RM5 million from the Armed Forces Welfare Fund". We already know what the higher stars are capable of with their 3 to 4 'Star' wives!
