Negeri Sembilan political crisis

  • A Pakatan Harapan youth leader has called for a “political timeout” to give the Madani administration space to tackle economic pressures stemming from the Iran-US-Israel war.

Harapan Youth information chief Ammar Atan said any power plays will only increase political instability and jeopardise investor confidence and the national economy.

“Harapan Youth urges all political leaders to put aside their political ambitions for the time being,” he said.

Although he did specifically refer to it, Ammar’s statement comes a week after Negeri Sembilan Umno decided to end support for Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun.

Negeri Sembilan Umno also signalled they were willing to form a new state government with support from opposition bloc Perikatan Nasional.
