Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said any potential legal action by PKR against him and fellow former party leader Rafizi Ramli could instead bolster Parti Bersama Malaysia’s (Bersama) standing.
Speaking on a BFM programme earlier today, he said any attempt by PKR to uphold its RM10 million election bond could cause the public to think that PKR views Bersama as a “threat”.
“The law is about technicalities, but the problem for PKR is that if they want to go nitpicking like that, people will look at them (as if) they are really taking Bersama seriously,” said the former minister.
Affirming that he and Rafizi had not violated the bond, the former PKR vice-president added that if the party hauls the matter to court, “so be it”.

In a separate post on X, former Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli also echoed Nik Nazmi’s sentiment.
Rafizi dismissed PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh’s claim that he joined Bersama before resigning from PKR, and challenged Fuziah to bring her alleged screenshot evidence to court.
He said Fuziah’s claim wouldn’t withstand scrutiny, insisting that official party records would clearly show he joined Bersama only after resigning as an MP and a PKR member.

PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh Rafizi said proof of political party membership in court is determined by official records of the party concerned, adding that Bersama’s records could verify the sequence of events.
He also explained that he formally submitted his resignation from PKR through the party’s Adil application only after receiving confirmation that Dewan Rakyat speaker Johari Abdul had accepted his resignation as an MP.
