'We don't want US-style anti-migrant movements': Saifuddin urges govt to engage Parliament on Rohingya crisis

INTERVIEW | Former foreign minister Saifuddin Abdullah has urged the Home Ministry to present a ministerial statement in Parliament on Putrajaya’s refugee policy, amid a surge in online hostility against such communities. 

Cautioning that unaddressed public anxieties risk spiralling into extreme anti-immigration sentiments akin to the situation in the United States, the newly minted secretary-general of Parti Wawasan Negara called for the minister to engage with other lawmakers knowledgeable on the matter.
