Police have opened an investigation after PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang claimed that in 2014, the US offered to help the party topple the then-BN government.
However, instead of investigating the conspiracy, police are investigating the remarks.In a statement last night, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director M Kumar said police are investigating the case under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for statements that cause public alarm, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for misuse of network facilities.

Universiti Malaysia Sabah researchers have discovered a new species of entomopathogenic fungi at the Infapro Rainforest Rehabilitation Project site near the Danum Valley Conservation Area in Lahad Datu.
Entomopathogenic fungi are parasitic fungi that infect insects and often cause death.
The new fungi from Sabah, which was spotted growing on a moth, was named Akanthomyces infaproensis sp. nov.
