Johor Umno Youth chief Noor Azleen Ambros has hit out at Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim over his criticism of the Federal Territories Pardons Board’s decision involving former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s house arrest.
In a statement today, Noor Azleen drew parallels between Hassan’s (below) questioning of the decision’s morality and ethics and the pardon granted to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in 2018, asking whether the same standards should apply to Anwar.

He said the same judicial system, Federal Constitution, and principle of the rule of law must apply regardless of who receives a pardon.
“Consistency in principle cannot depend on political convenience at the time,” he added.
Noor Azleen further accused Hassan of applying a double standard, arguing that his criticism of Najib was not about morality or ethics but “purely about political interests cloaked in the rhetoric of principle”.

MCMC probe
The MCMC today said it has identified several social media accounts for investigation following complaints over a performance video that went viral.
The clip allegedly contains content touching on the institution of the rulers and the Rukun Negara.
"An initial review found that the recording originated from a performance in 2018 and is now being recirculated on social media.
"MCMC is also working with the Criminal Investigation Department of the police to complete the investigation, including matters relating to digital evidence," it said in a statement.
Earlier, Bernama reported that National Unity Minister Aaron Ago Dagang called for appropriate action over the clip, including investigations under the Penal Code, Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, Sedition Act 1948, and other applicable laws.

Criticizing the pardons board is not as bad as criticizing 9 judges from 3 different courts in Malaysia who all shared the view that the national embarrassment belonged in prison
Each politician trying to bodek his boss or leader, in order to move up the ladder of political hireachy. They could not care less, whether the individual had shown any remorse for his crimes, returned a single sent he stole. All they care is that they get noticed and hope that by making that statement, they will have an opportunity to move up the political ladder. Two hoots to the Malaysian public who are paying and will hand over the payment to their next generation. Two hoots to the ordinary citizen that is languishing in the prison, who have committed a smaller crime or stole a lesser amount. Two hoots to the justice system, where it took 9 Honourable Judges to return a verdict of guilty. All they care is what they will benefit from this unjust decision. They remain blind to the fact that how this decision will impact the reputation of the nation. What example are we setting for our future generation ? That it is ok to commit a crime if you are connected or a political figure. Sad to say that at the rate or direction this nation is moving, it will be destroyed in the end. As God will one day get tired of man's unjust show of favouritism.
As for the Najib case, UMNO Baru will go full throttle on 'buat bodoh.' They know he committed the crime but must be pretending, since he didn't get a fair trial and should be freed at all costs. Any narratives against Najib's pardon will be spun and twisted as disrespecting the King's decision, or they may even go further and frame it as the King's decree. Or they will bring in Anwar's pardon. They have many stories to justify that Najib deserves a pardon.
