• MACC chief commissioner Abd Halim Aman said the agency will serve notices ordering former human resources minister M Saravanan, his wife, and three children to declare their assets.
  
  According to the New Straits Times, he told a press conference that Saravanan (above), his wife, and two of their children will collect the notice at MACC’s headquarters on Monday, while another child studying in London will receive it in November.
  
  Meanwhile, the MACC chief said the agency also served a similar notice to Tabung Haji chairperson Azeez Abdul Rahim and his family members.
  
  He said the MACC has yet to receive the declaration, but the notice was only served on Sept 15 and the one-month deadline to respond has yet to expire.

• MACC is putting its questioning of former Felda chairperson Isa Samad on hold while he recovers from a recent eye surgery at Serdang Hospital, Halim said.

  

  He said there is still much information that the MACC would like to get from him, as part of its investigation into Felda and Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd.
  
  Isa (above) is serving a six-year jail sentence in relation to the purchase of a hotel in Sarawak that involved RM3.09 million in kickbacks.

Protest

• DAP Youth said its leaders and members will join and support an NGO-led protest on Sunday to pressure the government to set up a royal commission of inquiry to investigate allegations of a “corporate mafia” colluding with MACC officers, and to urge authorities not to “silence” political activists.
  
  The rally, organised by Mandiri, will be held outside the Sogo department store in Kuala Lumpur at 3pm.
  
  “We call on all Malaysians who value justice and freedom of expression to join us and take a stand,” DAP Youth said in a statement today.
