Ismail & Zahid's GE15 merry-go-round
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi took another spin on the merry-go-round over whether or not to hold snap polls soon.
In an interview with Nikkei, Ismail Sabri downplayed the possibility of holding GE15 early due to concerns about inflation.
However, when Zahid rallied BN to press for elections soon, the prime minister fell back to his Umno AGM position that he would not wait one second to dissolve Parliament if the coalition was ready.
It is unlikely, however, that the matter of calling for an early GE15 election is settled.
Expect this game to continue for some time, with speculation rife that Ismail Sabri will reshuffle the cabinet soon.

Cops abused power in 2019 shooting
A coroner's court ruled that the police had abused their power when they gunned down three men in Rawang, Selangor, three years ago.
The police claimed that they had shot G Thavaselvan, 31, S Mahendran, 23, and Sri Lankan national J Vijayaratnam, 40, in self-defence, a claim that was rejected by the coroner.
Police had suspected them of being burglars.
This isn't the first time the police have been found in the wrong for gunning down people unjustly. However, to date, there has been no successful prosecution for such killings.
