A blogger, who published an image of Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim in a suggestive position, is now in police custody.

According to a police source, the blogger turned himself in at the Johor police headquarters yesterday.

The blogger, believed to be in his 40s, is currently being held under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.

This law relates to improper use of network facilities or network service to comment, request or suggest in a communication which is obscene, false, offensive, or used to abuse, threaten or harass another person.

If convicted, the blogger faces a maximum one year jail term and/or a maximum fine of RM50,000.

"The police shall investigate the matter by interrogating him in Johor first," said the source.

On Sunday, Kelantan PAS lodged a police report to complain about the image, which contains homo-erotic overtones.

In the image, the faces of Nik Abdul Aziz and Anwar are superimposed on the bodies of two individuals in a suggestive pose.

This arrest comes just two weeks after police charged another blogger for posting material on his blog which allegedly insulted the late Johor Sultan.
