The police today postponed its efforts to check the workplace of PKR's central committee member Badrul Hisham Shaharin, more popularly known as Chegubard, at the party headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

badrul hisham shaharin altantuya police questioning 290509 03 Badrul ( left ), who has been waiting at the PKR headquarters since 1pm, said he was informed about the cancellation at about 3pm when he received an SMS from a police officer from the Seremban district police headquarters.

Badrul said he called the officer to verify this, and the officer told him that he (the officer) had arrived but could not do the search as he has other important matters to attend to.

The PKR central committee member was detained by police on Saturday night following an allegedly seditious posting on his blog. His house in Bukit Chedang was also ransacked but they did not take anything.

Badrul was released after three hours that same night after his statement was recorded.

The Rembau PKR division chief said the police had said they would inform him of the time and date when they would inspect his workplace.

Unanswered calls

Badrul said the presence of reporters may have resulted in police stopping their efforts.

At about 2.45pm, Malaysiakini spotted two police cars with five police officers near the PKR headquarters.

Badrul was present at the headquarters along with PKR deputy president Senator Dr Syed Husin Ali.

In a related development, Negeri Sembilan CID chief Asst Comm Mohd Zaki Masroh confirmed that the police were there to try and retrieve Badrul's computer to complete its investigations.

"However, police had to call off the effort as Badrul was not replying to calls. That is the only reason why we want to meet Badrul," said Mohd Zaki.
