Two more car windows were smashed, while three motorcycles had the air in their tyres let out and another two motorcycles had their ignition locks tampered with as their owners attended a Pakatan Rakyat ceramah last night.

NONE According to PAS Malacca deputy commissioner Adly Zahari ( right) , the vehicles were vandalised at Jalan Pahlawan, near the venue where PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim spoke in Kampung Permatang Pasir.

Car owner Nor Azhanizam Azmi said that, about 12.20am, after leaving  the ceramah session, he saw the window on the driver's side of his Perodua Myvi had been smashed.

He lodged a police report immediately.

While his car bears a sticker with the picture of PAS spiritual leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, he said the other car that was vandalised had no sticker or item to indicate that the owner is a PAS supporter.

"I think it's because we had parked in an area where no one could see the vehicles," he said.

Eyewitnesses said several police officers took photographs of the vandalised vehicles after the event.

There was a heavy traffic police presence in the area last night.

Earlier this week, a resident who parked her car in front of the DAP operations room later found the rear windshield of the vehicle smashed.

PAS banners across Merlimau have also been slashed, while a DAP stage meant for an event on Friday was torched earlier this week.

NONE Also yesterday, groups of youths on motorcycles tried to disrupt Anwar's ceramah in Kampung Permatang Pasir, just as some did during a PAS ceramah at Chinchin on Monday, which took place next to a BN event.

"We understand that these disturbances have been occurring at our events every night.

"There are so many police officers present and I'm sure their allocation runs into millions of ringgit.

"But why can't they even stop a bunch of noisy kids?" PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub ( left ) asked at the party's daily press conference today.

Pakatan stopped form entering estate

He said he would not hesitate to speak to the Malacca police chief if such incidents continue.

On another matter, Salahuddin said Pakatan campaigners have been stopped from entering the Sime Darby oil palm estate in the area.

"When we contacted Sime Darby, its officials said they had no issue with us, but were facing pressure from certain parties.

"We have complained to the Election Commission, but it claimed it could not do anything as the estate was private land," he said.

BN campaigners, including its leaders, had previously entered the estates to campaign.
