PKR will beef up security at its events in a bid to nab the distributor of VCDs containing the pornographic video depicting a man resembling Anwar Ibrahim, after thousands copies of it were dumped throughout Selangor in the past few weeks.

pkr congress 281110 shuhaimi Selangor PKR publicity chief Shuhaimi Shafiei ( right ) said the party had found that the VCDs were being distributed during PKR activities at Tanjung Karang and Selayang early this month.

“In our Jelajah Selangor Tawan Malaysia roadshow-cum-ceramah at Tanjung Karang on May 11, the VCDs and related posters were slipped under the wipers of cars parked around the ceramah venue.

“In the prayer session at Selayang, stacks of VCDs were left unattended,” he said.

He observed that the distribution was pre-planned and carried out at almost every PKR event.

"Our security personnel, who were assigned to monitor the cars coming to our ceramah , found those VCDs. Therefore we will tighten our security to nab those distributing VCDs," said the Sri Muda assemblyperson.

The PKR ceramah tonight at Kampung Tok Muda, Kapar, will see higher security, he said.

Shuhaimi also urged the police to assist them in arresting the perpetrators.

“Don’t just come to disrupt our ceramah, instead help us to nab the distributors.”

Earlier today, Shuhaimi together with four ketua kampungs in his constituency, lodged five police reports at Shah Alam district police headquarters over the VCD distribution.

Besides from Selayang and Tanjung Karang, the police report alleged that copies of VCDs were also distributed at Kampung Jalan Kebun, Kampung Melayu Subang, Semenyih and Kuala Langat town halls.

VCDs received in the mail

The four ketua kampungs alleged that they had received the VCDs and posters in the mail which were postmarked Shah Alam and Malacca on May 23 and 24.

“All of them did not watch the VCD, but I was told that the contents are the same as the one uploaded on the Internet, judging from the cover of the VCD,” said Shuhaimi.

He said that another four ketua kampungs were supposed to lodge the same police report but they were absent due to other commitments.

“The distribution of these material is not only prohibited because of its pornographic content, but it also gives a negative impact to our children,” he added.
