Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today echoed Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in stating that cabinet had not decided on the fate of embattled minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

Responding queries by reporters at UiTM Puncak Alam today, Muhyiddin said: " Tak ada (There is no such thing)"

This follows heavy speculation that the cabinet had last week accepted the women, family and community development minister's resignation.

NONE The speculation gained traction when the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission conducted a search of the National Feedlot Corporation's office in Solaris Mont Kiara on Friday.

Last week, Najib said that he has not received any resignation letter by Shahrizat, whose family runs the NFC.

Breaking his silence on the matter, which has been brewing since the Auditor-General's Report 2010 was released in late October, the premier said he will comment on the topic " in due course ".

The report had said the NFC project, aimed at meeting Malaysia's beef demands, was in a mess.

PKR followed up on the matter and uncovered that the company had made questionable use of a RM250 million soft loan for the project, which includes the purchase of luxury condominiums, prime land in Putrajaya and a luxury car, among others.

Shahrizat had claimed she had no role in the controversy, stressing that she was merely the wife of the NFC's boss.

Thus far, the police have questioned more than two dozen people and detained a 45-year-old businessman in connection to the case.
