Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad today said that he is preparing to file a counter suit against his former PAS colleague Hasan Ali within the next two weeks.
This follows Hasan's suit against Khalid in connection with suspicions raised by Khalid on the sources of funding for Hasan's NGO, Jati.
"I received the letter from his lawyers Kamarul Hisham and Hasnal Redua on April 26. My lawyer Hanipa Maidin appeared in court for me on April 30 to say that we seek a trial," he said.
Khalid said Hasan ( right ) is seeking damages and is letting the court determine the amount.
His counter-suit would focus on Hasan's claim that Khalid is a "parasite" and was "stopping Hasan from doing amar ma'ruf nahi mungkar" (doing good and preventing others from sinning).
"My case seems more easy to proof, doesn't it? He did say those things," Khalid quipped.
Khalid said he has also taken legal action against Perak exco member Hamidah Osman and Umno Bukit Gelugor leader Dr Novandri Hasan Basri.
"This has to do with photographs posted on their blogs," he said, adding that the trials were under way.
