Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali has heaped praises on PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang over the latter's criticisms against PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

In a statement yesterday, Ibrahim said that Hadi had "finally" demonstrated Islamic leadership by belittling Azizah's ( left ) capabilities to become the Selangor menteri besar.

"Congratulations to Hadi, finally showing the leadership of an Islamic party, which had been tarnished before this," he said.

According to Ibrahim, Hadi's reservations about Wan Azizah is valid because the latter might not be able to "stand up to DAP" in Selangor.

"Can she withstand DAP's pressure, or will she be easily used by DAP?" he asked.

He also argued that if PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, Wan Azizah's husband, does end up losing his sodomy appeal at the Federal Court and is imprisoned, Wan Azizah would become the "only MB to seek advise from a prisoner".

This, he said, was because she had admitted that she would seek advice from Anwar if she does become MB.

"I think this is why Hadi ( above ) has rejected Wan Azizah. It has a strong basis," he said.
