Umno blog: Why MACC haters now its champs?

Umno-linked blog MyKMU.net has lashed out at those supporting the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as it probes SRC International, from which RM42 million in fund was deposited into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's private bank accounts.

This was after opposition leaders gathered outside the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya this morning in solidarity.

Several of MACC investigators looking into SRC International have been arrested and their homes and offices raided.

"Before this, they (MACC) were condemned, accused of taking bribes and only going after 'small fish'. They were accused as BN dogs and cursed.

"But now everything has changed. They are now being hailed and strongly supported by those who were hell-bent on smearing MACC's credibility," it said.

It pointed out that the MACC was heavily criticised when former political aide Teoh Beng Hock and former immigration officer Ahmad Sarbaini Mohamed were found dead on its premises.

MyKMU also took aim at MACC, stating that the graft buster appear to not understand that the police also have a duty to investigate.

'Graft busters not untouchable'

MACC had lashed out at the police for interfering in its investigation.

The police had denied this, citing that its probe against MACC is only limited to alleged information leak by the commission.

"What is wrong for MACC to be investigated by the police? MACC officers are not untouchable," said the blog.

It added that MACC had, in the past, also arrested many police and immigration officers in its investigations.

It also criticised MACC for holding prayers and asking for divine intervention, amid the police action.

"Why did MACC not hold prayers during the case of Teoh Beng Hock and Ahmad Sarbaini?" it said.

It also took aim at MACC special operations division director Bahri Mohamed Zin’s vow to find out the "hidden hands" behind the police action against the anti-graft body.

"Why didn't MACC vow to find out who were the culprits in the commission who had arrested the duo (that led to their deaths)?"

MyKMU also urged MACC not to be emotional in the matter.
