Former Special Branch (SB) deputy director Abdul Hamid Bador has denied that he will be filing a report against former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today over the latter’s "attacks" on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

“Even if I am cut in 12 pieces, I will never defame the servant of Allah who has contributed so much to the country,” Abdul Hamid is quoted as saying by The Malay Mail Online .

A text message on sent out to several reporters on WhatsApp yesterday said Hamid would be holding a press conference at the Bukit Aman police headquarters today.

The message states that the press conference would explain Mahathir’s involvement with London-based whistleblower site Sarawak Report in fabricating documents belonging to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) in an attempt to oust Najib.

Hamid, who has been with the police force for 37 years, was transferred to the Prime Minister's Department on Tuesday.

However, he does not know the reason for his sudden transfer.

Although he had officially resigned from his post on Wednesday, he has yet to decide to whether to take up the posting at the Prime Minister's Department.

Hamid's transfer is the latest change to have taken place within the SB in recent weeks, after Mohamad Fuzi Harun replaced Akhil Bulat as SB director.
