Anina Saadudin, who was axed from Umno for filing a lawsuit against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, has called on party members not to fear their leaders.

"If we love Umno, we should fear Allah. If we love Umno, we should think of the next generation - our children and grandchildren.

"Why fear the powers-that-be today. We only live for the moment, think about the future," said the former Langkawi Umno member, who is contesting her expulsion.

Speaking to reporters at her lawyer’s office in Petaling Jaya, the 40-year-old lecturer vowed to remain with Umno no matter what happens.

Anina explained that everything she had done was out of her love and concern for the party.

"I have been asked if I will join the opposition after this. I stress that what I'm doing now is out of love for Umno. Whatever happens, I will live and die with Umno.

"My love for Umno will last forever," she stressed.

Last Friday, Anina filed a lawsuit against Najib on grounds of recovering part of the RM2.6 billion deposited into his personal bank accounts which is described as "political donation".

The lawsuit sought to recover US$650 million of the US$681 million (RM2.6 billion) after whistle blower site Sarawak Report claimed the amount was remitted overseas.

Subsequently, Umno announced that her membership was automatically terminated as members were not allowed to bring party matters to court.

In the suit, Anina had also pre-empted her termination as an Umno member as she sought an injunction against this or any other disciplinary action by the party.

Prior to the suit, Anina’s speech at the Langkawi Umno annual meet went viral on social media.

In her speech, she had used the crude term “kencing” (urinate) to accuse Najib, who is Umno president, of cheating the party’s three million members.
