A case of torn between two suitors for PAS
YOURSAY | ‘First, PAS needs to align its moral compass. Next, it needs to grow a spine.’
PAS number two: Allah tells us to cooperate for goodness
Mojo Jojo:
PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, while the second portion of this news reports makes you a political opponent of the BN-led government, the first half indicates otherwise.
If you are absolutely opposed to the BN-led government, you would not set the stage for a possible Umno-PAS alliance by claiming that PAS has never ruled out the possibility of cooperating with anyone for the sake of "goodness", which means many things to many people.
If there is one thing you've learned excellently well as PAS deputy president, Tuan Ibrahim, it would be the sophisticated art of double-talk.
Oh Ya?: From totally "no" to "may be" and now "if". Deep inside he already said "I do".
A classic case of opportunistic politicians fooling their ignorant members and supporters. Is this Islamic?
Anonymous #23456263: Why can't they state it in plain language, "We will only cooperate when the rot, corruption and injustice end."
Can a priest cooperate with a pirate, and not be tainted?
Doc: I am confused here. Allah calls on Muslims to cooperate for the sake of goodness. PAS says they will not unite to condone unIslamic acts like whitewashing corruption to protect a single leader, which I assume this refers to PM Najib Razak.
During the recent Umno AGM, allegedly one of the Umno delegates has received confirmation from Allah that he has chosen Najib to be the sixth PM of Malaysia.
So I am confused; does Allah allow or not allow for a PAS-Umno alliance? The only thing that Allah seem to be certain is that DAP is bad.
Speechless: First, PAS needs to align its moral compass. Next, it needs to grow a spine. Most importantly, it needs to clear its rather muddled mind.
Otherwise, it keeps issuing contradictory statements and can't differentiate its enemies from its friends.
Worldly Wise: PAS should be clear what it wants. Religion requires moral conduct.
Discrimination on ethnic grounds is immoral. Discrimination on grounds of ethnicity is prohibited in Islam.
Perak Boleh: The temptation of money and power is too great to resist. To justify their personal greed, they will use religion and the name of Allah.
PAS cannot be trusted. Please do not cast your vote for them in the next GE14.
Bamboo: If PAS can cooperate with a corrupt Umno, no matter how the party justifies the cooperation, gone is PAS Islamic pedigree as corruption is definitely unIslamic.
Sans Blinkers: Reading between the lines, Tuan Ibrahim is saying as a party PAS cannot work with Umno and indirectly telling its president and his minority supporters that the majority is against the whole idea.
Rupert16: If Tuan Ibrahim indeed meant what he said, then PAS should stay clear of allegedly corrupt Najib and his minions for goodness sake.
Najib’s recent action confirms his desperate need to be on the good side of PAS to cling on to power.
Quigonbond: Tuan Ibrahim, no one speaks for PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang as he has amply demonstrated.
Unless he comes up and say he is not cooperating with Umno now or after GE14, sorry to say, we won't be buying into any story from PAS.
PAS Youth accepts Najib’s olive branch
Victor Johan: As per this 'breaking news' revealed by PAS Youth leader Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, PAS has already previously agreed with Umno on various religious and community-related issues.
But this does not mean PAS is forming a new political bloc with Umno and yet remain a federal opposition party together with PKR, DAP, Amanah and PSM.
Nik Abduh should give a very clearly defined aspirations of the party and in concurrence with Hadi Awang. They should call for a press conference together and ink their commitments in blood, so to speak.
Oh Ya?: This must be the lowest point of kangkung land's political development. Both sides of the political divide are resorting to politicking and fooling the people to sustain their grip on power.
How could PAS remain an opposition party and form an electoral pact with PKR, if not Pakatan Harapan, now that it has accepted Umno's olive branch? And how could PKR continue to push for a pact with, and retain, PAS in the Selangor state government?
And how could the non-Muslim BN parties endorse the Umno-PAS tie-up when earlier they had blasted both PKR and DAP for supporting ‘hudud’ by their association with PAS?
How could kangkung land become a developed country when its leaders are so retarded?
VP Biden: The next GE, Umno and PAS will form a partnership and rely on the rural Malay votes and Sabah/Sarawak to rule.
That is the agenda - an immoral party working with a so-called "moral" party. As they say, birds of a feather flock together.
