Abu Dhabi authorities move on 1MDB scandal
Abu Dhabi authorities arrested business tycoon and former International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) managing director Khadem a-Qubaisi in relation to his role in the 1MDB scandal.
Meanwhile, Hakkasan Inc, which owns a string of nightclubs and is linked to Khadem, denied any source of its funding came from 1MDB.
In another development, former BSI banker Yeo Jiawei, who is accused of facilitating the laundering of 1MDB’s funds, was slapped with two additional charges in Singapore.
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya MP Tony Pua expressed scepticism at the government's assurance that it will take action against those named if 1MDB’s funds was indeed stolen.
Police announced that the government restricted its investigation on 1MDB to what is contained in the Public Accounts Committee’s report.

Police are investigating Langkawi MP Nawawi Ahmad’s claim that the ‘Malaysian Official 1', which the Department of Justice (DOJ) said received US$731 million from 1MDB, is the Agong.
