KINI ROUNDUP Here are the key headlines that you may have missed yesterday, in brief.

Rosmah's expenses under spotlight

Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said his fellow ministers never slammed former finance minister II Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah in cabinet meetings.

This was after Ahmad Husni revealed that he resigned due to pressure from the 1MDB scandal and that he was "slammed" when proposing measures to improve the country's standing in the corruption perception index.

Tengku Adnan also downplayed Umno veterans quitting the party, stating that there were many more who were begging to come back.

In another development, The Wall Street Journal reported that the prime minister's wife, Rosmah Mansor, spent US$6 million on clothes, shoes and jewellery between 2008 and 2015.

Umno-MCA war of words continues

The war of words between Umno supreme council member Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz and MCA central committee member Ti Lian Ker continued, with the tourism minister claiming that he was "disciplining" Ti.

Nazri also addressed Ti's complaint that he appeared closer to DAP than BN partners, stating that this was because DAP could get Chinese support but MCA could not.

Ti did not appear to want to add more fuel to fire, focusing instead on Umno splinter Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, declaring that it was good for Umno as it marked the departure of its extremist leaders.

Meanwhile, Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said Nazri's attack on MCA may be due to him not fully listening to what the Chinese-based party had to say.

MIC president Dr S Subramaniam also tried to defuse the situation, urging BN leaders to regard all component parties as their own.
