Deputy speaker saves BN in Budget 2018 vote

BN won a bloc vote on Budget 2018 by a razor-thin margin of 52-51, with help from deputy speaker Ismail Mohamad Said who voted in his capacity as Kuala Krau MP. The vote was to protest the rising cost of fuel.

The Finance Ministry said it would only step in to mitigate rising fuel costs if RON95 and diesel cost more than RM2.50 per litre for three consecutive months.

Bung turns heads with 'naked' remark

Kinabatangan MP Bung Mohtar Radin caused a stir when he peppered his defence of hijab-clad women with lewd remarks about unattractive women in the nude.

Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming denied insulting Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir with the slur "Melayu p***mak".

DAP's Skudai assemblyperson Dr Boo Cheng Hau called on Dr Mahathir Mohamad to apologise to the Selangor and Johor rulers for his "Bugis remark".
