Selangor BN chief Noh Omar has called on DAP to sack its member former minister Zaid Ibrahim, if the party claims it has nothing to do with the latter’s imbroglio with the Selangor sultan.

"We challenge DAP, if they say what Zaid said has nothing to do with the DAP. We challenge DAP to sack Zaid," said Noh to several hundred supporters gathered for their "Daulat Tuanku" solidarity rally in Shah Alam this morning.

He was referring to Selangor DAP chairperson Tony Pua on Friday saying Zaid will have to deal with the repercussions of his personal remarks aimed at Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and that the party has "no position" on the matter.

Selangor BN organised the rally to express support for the sultan and to condemn Zaid, describing him as a traitor, as well as a "DAP stooge".

Zaid had triggered an outcry with his response to the sultan's warning that Mahathir's anger could raze the nation.

"Selangor sultan should be careful with his words. No one is immune when the country burns.

"When some rulers play politics, they must know the consequences. Don't think there's no price for partisanship," he had written.

Following this, Sultan Sharafuddin described Zaid's remarks as rude and told him to return to the latter’s home state of Kelantan if he disagreed with him.

Noh later told reporters the day's rally was a sign that Selangorians from all races and religions are in solidarity with the Sultan against such purportedly insolent acts.

He also claimed that it was a common tactic by DAP to allegedly "use their Malay leaders" as part of their quest for political power.

"This is normal. They are smart, DAP is smart. The ones who become (their) stooges are the Malay people, the Malay leaders.

"The Malay leaders angered the rakyat, DAP washes their hands off (distanced itself)," he claimed.

"If they are truly not involved, they have to take action against Zaid, and boycott Mahathir. Why are they still in collusion?" he questioned.

Responding to calls for him to apologise, Zaid yesterday insisted that he has not done anything wrong that would warrant an apology.

Inspector-general of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun has, however, confirmed that Zaid is being probed under the Sedition Act and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Act 1998.
