PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali said there were positive developments with regards to the ongoing electoral seat negotiations in Selangor.

"The process is still ongoing and I see developments that are very positive.

The Pakatan Harapan component parties have seen the need for a consensus that will ensure we not only retain Selangor but also win it with a bigger majority," he told journalists during a function in Semenyih today.

Azmin said winning a bigger majority in Selangor would ensure continuity of the current state government's policies.

Asked when the negotiations would conclude, Azmin said he hoped it could be done as soon as possible.

"I hope it can be completed as fast as possible but in any seat negotiation process, we need to consult the grassroots and the people in the respective constituencies," he said in a KiniTV video.

Azmin (abovein neck brace) said it was not about which party getting which seat but the “winnability” of the candidates.

He added the negotiations were still at the state level and had not yet been taken up to the central leadership to be resolved.

Selangor is only one of two states that have yet to conclude their seat negotiations. The other state is Malacca.

Four other states have forwarded their unresolved seat talks to the central leadership for a resolution. They are Pahang, Perak, Terengganu and Kelantan.

With the exception of Sabah, other Harapan state chapters have already concluded their respective electoral seat distribution.
