PAC didn't say I stole from 1MDB, says PM

Res Ipsa: Finally, it appears that PM Najib Razak has picked up some courage to say something about the 1MDB scandal which has now become globally renowned.

However, instead of tackling the matter head-on, he prefers to make references to local third-party investigations and reports, and expects people to make the conclusion that since he has not been personally named in any of those reports, he is therefore not guilty of theft.

The fact remains that some laundered monies to the tune of RM2.6 billion found its way to his personal bank accounts. Granted that it was that incredible Saudi donation which was partially utilised and returned.

With that being the explanation offered, what's stopping him to provide all the wire transfers to justify his explanation and put the matter to rest once and for all?

This is primary evidence which the rakyat expect to see to exorcise that 1MDB ghost which has been clouding their minds over the last three years or so.

If this is not done, the rakyat are certainly entitled to infer that the PM is acting out of desperation to say something on the 1MDB scandal so that it would mitigate the devastating effect it would have on Umno and BN in GE14.

And by the way, we haven't forgotten about the RM42 million SRC monies which also found its way into Najib's bank accounts. Have those monies been returned to SRC?

You may have innocently received those monies (as you had claimed), but since you have misappropriated them, you may want your lawyers to check on the definition of theft.

Anonymous 6489007512643862: Najib, congratulations. So the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report did not say you stole from 1MBD. I have never doubted your innocence ever, trust me. How did your name get associated with stealing in the first place, I wonder?

You must be very proud now that you have just highlighted the fact you are totally innocent. So, it is time to stand in front of some international news media, hopefully in a foreign country, and proclaim the same.

That way you can hold your head high and tell the whole world your innocence. And be able to take some questions from them even if you decided not to sue those damned publications such as The Wall Street Journal.

Trueglitter: At the approach of the impending GE14 which is to take place soon, it is not unexpected that the desperate and apparently scandal-riddled Najib will not miss an opportunity to earnestly deflect the escalating condemnations of his involvement in especially the 1MDB scandal.

Unlike all previous experiences, Najib’s worrying desperation had been compounded and further exacerbated by his acknowledgement of Pakatan Harapan’s emergence as an utterly menacing and threatening force, well galvanised with reputable and tested leadership endowments along with the undistinguished fire in their bellies that will have the capability and capacity to condemn the Umno-led BN government into disgraceful oblivion.

No amount of lame excuses or unsubstantiated explanations from Najib will help arrest the growing tide of discontent and anger from the unforgiving public at his apparent involvement in the 1MDB scandal despite the auditor-general’s report on the matter being made a classified document.

As a consequence, the order from Najib has disappointingly prevented the anxious public to have access to or knowledge in the true status of the auditor-general’s investigation. 

Clearly, the apparent disclosure of said result of finding will have unprecedented and exceedingly huge ramifications on the nation and its people as it will enable them usher in a new dawn upon the finding of guilt on the untouchable and manipulative Malaysian Official 1 (MO1).

Vijay47: For a prime minister of a nation that could have soared towards the stars, Najib, you come out with illogical statements and pathetic excuses that only serve to shame us.

The whole world is aflame with the 1MDB scandal yet till today, you never had the spine and sense of outrage to boldly step forward and firmly present your side of the argument; you never had the guts to stand up in Parliament to take on your critics.

You now hold an interview with a dyed-in-the-wool apologist like Idris Jala with a list of prepared self-serving shallow questions.

Najib, you claim that the attorney-general (AG) and PAC had cleared you of any wrongdoing, but when the original direction indicated that their reports would be detrimental and even condemning of your integrity, you changed the damning members of the panel.

Is that what a guiltless man would do?

You shrilly contend that only the new AG and PAC are right, the entire rest of the world is wrong. Just who do you think you are to warrant such attention? Why are the heads of Singapore, England, India, France, China, or Australia not subject to such universal audit?

The greatest irony in the room with the prancing elephant is that even now for all your professed innocence, you dare not release the Auditor General’s Report on 1MBD.

Slumdog: By the way, how can anyone rely on the PAC report when its chairperson, Hasan Arifin, on his own violation, and without consulting other PAC members, intentionally omitted key incriminating evidence?

Not Convinced: Indeed, MO1, do you really think that we will believe the ‘cari makan’ PAC chairperson?

Odin Tajué: The well-read and informed know that thieves are known to be much partial to telling lies. The more they indulge in stealing, and the greater the amounts they have stolen, the more habitual they lie and the greater the incidences of their lying.

They get to a point when they become inveterate or pathological liars. Lying is as natural and habitual to them as breathing.

They lie so much that they believe their own lies even when every normal person around them can tell outright that their lies are not only so clearly untruths but are also so infantile that only brain-dead cretins would believe them.

Ask any clinical psychologists and those who have studied the behaviour of criminals and of those afflicted with mental aberrations.
