A man was recorded pulling out BN flags along a pavement and throwing them to the ground. The video has since gone viral on social media.

According to The Star, the police are now investigating the incident.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim said three reports have been filed on the matter.

"The case occurred on Sunday along Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi at Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

"Reports were lodged by the person who took the video, the person who put up the flags as well as a representative from Umno Youth," he added.

Mazlan also urged those with information regarding the man to come forward.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and damage.

As for putting up flags prior to the campaign period, Mazlan said such offences fall under the jurisdiction of local councils.

He added that parties needed the permission of local councils before putting up flags.

In the 41-second video, the man also flashes the middle finger at the person recording him.
