An appreciation dinner organised for DAP's Bukit Gelugor parliamentary constituency volunteers last night was disrupted by a faulty fuse, which burnt and filled the hall with smoke, forcing those attending out of the venue.

"It's a very unfortunate incident, and I seek our volunteers' understanding in the matter. It was unforeseen, and we apologise for the mishap," DAP Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh (above) told reporters after the incident.
