SEMENYIH POLLS | PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang will make an appearance in Semenyih to campaign for BN candidate Zakaria Hanafi, according to Umno supreme council member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.
"Yes, he will come down," he told reporters today at a press conference in Bukit Mahkota.
Tajuddin said Hadi is likely to campaign in the polling district – which he is tasked with overseeing – but declined to reveal when the PAS president will arrive.
At the same press conference, Sungai Buloh Umno chief Megat Firdaus Megat Junid said that Hadi may share a ceramah stage with acting party president Mohamad Hasan.
"We are still working on one or two places," he said.
Mahathir had claimed he was told by Hadi in a meeting on Friday that his party would not support BN in the Semenyih by-election.

The claim was rebutted by leaders from both parties, including PAS vice-president Iskandar Ab Samad and Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Mahathir reiterated his statement today, noting that Hadi, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan and Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar had all pledged not to back BN.
As Megat Firdaus pointed out, however, Umno and PAS members in Semenyih have been working together closely, and even attended a meeting together last night.
For the March 2 polls, Zakaria will face off against Pakatan Harapan's Muhammad Aiman Zainali – the son-in-law of late incumbent Bakthiar Mohd Nor – as well as Parti Sosialis Malaysia's Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul and independent Kuan Chee Heng.
