Farhash Wafa Salvador has challenged Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador to arrest Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali over the sex video scandal.
He also believes there is a political conspiracy against PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
“So if the IGP has credibility, he should bring Azmin in,” he said when speaking to supporters and journalists after being released from the Dang Wangi district police headquarters this afternoon.
According to Farhash, who is Anwar's political secretary, police officers themselves were perplexed as to the reason for his arrest and Azmin not being picked up.
“I don't look like Azmin. So why couldn't the police just call (me in for questioning) and record my statement?
“But they chose to detain me like I am a murderer, a low-level convict. They tried to impose the harshest penalty on me.
“They tried to remand me for seven days and extend it for another seven days, maximum. Thank God, I have good lawyers.
“The second time I was remanded, it went to a lower section. So even the police were confused. Most officers I met were puzzled. They were thinking, why is Azmin not detained and why was I detained,” he added.
Last week, Hamid said although the video is most likely authentic, the facial recognition process failed to link Azmin to the recording depicting two men engaging in sexual acts.
The police chief also revealed the existence of a conspiracy to tarnish the minister's reputation, which is masterminded by the leader of a political party.
'If law becomes injustice, reformasi becomes a duty'
Meanwhile, Farhash, who is also the Perak PKR chairperson, said it was unfair for the police to rob him of his liberty, especially when no reports were lodged against him.
The political aide, who spent eight days in remand after being arrested on July 16, said he was in good health but had lost some weight.
On a sarcastic note, he thanked the police chief for “giving me an eight-day leave.”
“But I am not Azmin. If you want to let someone rest, it should be Azmin... Look I learned something, a quote on the prison wall - if law becomes injustice, reformasi becomes a duty,” he added.

Apart from Farhash, former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz (above) was also freed on police bail this afternoon but left without speaking to reporters, apart from saying he was in good health.
Met later, his lawyer Kenzin Goik said the police had acted professionally throughout his client's detention.
“The investigation is almost completed. So it is unlikely he will be arrested again. We will have to see if Haziq will be charged, we are not sure,” he added.
Haziq had claimed he was the one in the video and that the other person was Azmin. He alleged that their sexual tryst was recorded without his knowledge in the minister's hotel room in Sandakan, Sabah, in May.
Following this, the former political secretary to Primary Industries Deputy Minister Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin was detained twice, the first on June 14. He was released the next day.
Haziq was detained again on July 14.
Apart from distributing obscene material, he is also being investigated under Section 377B of the Penal Code for sex against the order of nature.
