Entrepreneur Development Ministry renamed to include cooperatives

The Entrepreneur Development Ministry (MED) is now known as the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (Medac).

“In line with the government's initiative to empower the cooperative movement, the cabinet has agreed on the MED being rebranded to the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives – Medac," the ministry said in a statement today.

It was reported that the ministry decided to table the proposal to rebrand itself at today's cabinet meeting following requests from cooperative members, as there had been uncertainty on which ministry was in charge of cooperatives.
