Bersatu leader: Nothing wrong with PAS' confidence vote but now's not the time
Bersatu supreme council member Rais Hussin said there was nothing wrong with PAS' move to table a confidence motion for Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin but said now was not the time to get into the "numbers game".
"Nothing wrong in doing that but it's just my hope and belief that the administration will continue to focus on the people rather than continuously involving themselves in this political Game of Thrones.

"Nothing wrong in doing that but it's just my hope and belief that the administration will continue to focus on the people rather than continuously involving themselves in this political Game of Thrones.
"At this point in time, rather than accentuate each other's political battle, it is best to focus on the (Covid-19) pandemic. This pandemic is not over yet," he said.
Rais said he was unaware that PAS had consulted Bersatu before proceeding with the motion.
"My view is the government is already working and functioning and the government is prioritising the fight against Covid-19 and trying to restart the economy.
"So I don't understand the need for such a motion," he said.
In the event the motion goes to the floor, Rais said he was confident Muhyiddin would pull through.
"I think at this point of time, yes (Muhyiddin has the numbers). I am confident that he will still get the confidence (of the House) with support from Muafakat Nasional, GPS and others.
"I think he still has the numbers. But do we still want to go with the numbers game?" he said.
Yesterday, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan, who is also the de facto law minister, announced that PAS had submitted a motion of confidence in Muhyiddin in Parliament.
The move came as a surprise as the opposition had for months pushed for a no-confidence vote against Muhyiddin.
Both confidence and no-confidence votes entail the Dewan Rakyat voting in support for or against Muhyiddin, the outcome showing whether the prime minister has a majority in the Dewan Rakyat.
Based on the Parliament sitting in May, Muhyiddin is believed to have a two-seat majority in the Dewan Rakyat.
This later increased to three with the defection of Lubok Antu MP Jugah Muyang from PKR.
Negotiations have continued as both sides of the divide attempt to bolster their numbers in the Dewan Rakyat.
