PAS Youth appeared upset after Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki raised a question on the Islamic party's stance on Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's statement to contest in all Umno seats in the upcoming general election.
Asyraf highlighted the issue in his closing speech at the Umno Youth assembly meeting at PWTC yesterday while stating that Umno remains committed to defend the Muafakat Nasional pact with PAS.
"Are they (PAS) with us? This (question) is important. Before we enter a war, we must know who's an ally and the foe," Asyraf said.
With the presence of PAS representatives at the Umno AGM, Selangor Pas deputy youth chief Mohamed Sukri Omar (photo, above) warned Umno not to be rude to its guests today.
Sukri also took a jab at Asyraf when he claimed that the episode of the "betrayal" began with certain Umno leaders giving support to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
"Please don't act like you are (Islamic figure) Saidina Ali (Abi Talib).
"I'd like to remind you that the betrayal in the coalition started with the support of Anwar as PM. Is that the value of friendship? Honest and sincere? In the name of ummah (Muslim community) survival?"
Sukri, in his Facebook posting, warned: "Don't be rude to the guests tomorrow (today). If our father is hurt, we are prepared to face you and will not keep quiet."
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and his deputy Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man were among the guests at the Umno AGM today.
Meanwhile, PAS Youth chief Khairil Nizam Khiruddin, in a Facebook posting, reiterated that the Muafakat Nasional pact is not exclusive to only PAS and Umno.
"I am confident that the Ummah unity is not only exclusive to PAS and Umno. It must involve all parties who accept Islamic leadership," he said.
