Former Malacca chief minister Adly Zahari has been appointed as Amanah’s new vice-president.

Husam, who resigned from the post last year, denied that he had a fallout with Mohamad.
“Adly’s appointment is in line with Amanah’s aspirations to allow more new leaders to helm the leadership of the party and the nation in the future,
“We believe this appointment will strengthen Amanah’s image as a party that brings the message of rahmatan lil aalamin (compassionate Islam) among the society,” Mohamad, who is widely known as Mat Sabu, said in a statement yesterday.
He added that Adly’s position as the party treasurer would be filled by Selangor Amanah chairperson Izham Hashim.
Adly served as the Malacca chief minister after Pakatan Harapan won power in the 2018 general election, but he was ousted after his government collapsed through defections.
